Elementary Arts
As art is an essential element of the curriculum for all students in Papillion La Vista Community Schools, students Kindergarten through 6th grade participate in an art program funded by the Papillion-La Vista Schools Foundation. The Omaha Theater Company provides the "Every Single Child" program to our district. The program has been modified to connect to the district's curriculum while maintaining activities that are developmentally appropriate for each grade, building upon the previous grade level's art activity. The Elementary Arts Program gives 5,500 Kindergarten through 6th grade elementary students the opportunity to enrich their education by exposing them to various arts experiences. These cultural arts experiences allow us to augment the core curriculum offered throughout the Papillion-La Vista Schools. The Elementary Arts Program has been a favorite of students and teachers for over 20 years. Elementary Arts is supported by the K-6 PLV Foundation Performing Arts Grant (Every Single Child Grant) in partnership with Midlands Community Foundation, Papillion Community Foundation, The Rose Theater, and The Omaha Theater Company.
