Our History
Great schools attract families to the area. And many of our most prized traditions center around school activities, games and performances. High quality public education sparks innovation that fues personal and community growth. Any way you look at it, PLCS strengthens our community and its people.
The PLCS Foundation exists to keep that innovative educational tradition alive and flourishing for all kids, regardless of their current circumstances.
Community volunteers started the Foundation in 1986 to address a need for quality before- and after-school care for working families. Out of that need grew the popular Kids Club program in every elementary school. Volunteers then expanded the Foundation as the district's trusted partner to help generous donors support Papillion La Vista students through financial gifts.
Today, the PLCS Foundation is a well-established, 501(c)3 charitable organization that is governed by a volunteer board of directors and managed by a professional staff. We are the only non-profit organization that exists to exclusively help PLCS students - all 12,000 of them - no matter their interests or the schools they attend.
