Each year, the PLCS Hall of Fame honors individuals whose leadership, service and achievements inspire others. The 2026 honorees were recognized at the PLCS Foundation's Back to School Soiree on August 15.

Kelly (Hunter) Natter
Distinguished Alumni
Class of 2013
A 2013 Titan graduate, Kelly (Hunter) Natter is one of the most accomplished athletes in Papillion La Vista South High School history. A standout setter, she led the Titans to three consecutive volleyball state championships and earned the prestigious Andi Collins Award as the nation’s top high school setter. She continued at the University of Nebraska, where she became a three-time All-American, two-time national champion, and NCAA Championship Most Outstanding Player. Today, Kelly is an assistant coach with Husker Volleyball.

Jeff Schmid
Distinguished Alumni
Class of 1976
A 1976 Monarch graduate, Jeff Schmid has built a nationally respected career in banking and financial leadership. He has been a bank examiner with the FDIC, President of American National Bank and founding Chairman and CEO of Mutual of Omaha Bank. He currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, one of the nation’s 12 Federal Reserve Banks, where he helps guide monetary policy discussions and leads economic initiatives across the region.

John Erickson
Community Booster
John Erickson was class president of the PLHS Class of 1980. His career spans more than 35 years working to advance education through fundraising, including working for the University of Nebraska Foundation. He served as Executive Director of the PLCS Foundation for ten years where he broadened fundraising programs, managed programs and built lasting partnerships. Today, as Vice President of Advancement at Bellevue University, John continues his passion for education while remaining deeply committed to the Papillion La Vista community.

Lynette Janssen
Legendary Educator
Lynette Janssen is a 1967 graduate of Papillion High School who dedicated 45 years to educating PLCS students during her remarkable 50-year teaching career. She began as a Home Economics teacher at Papillion High School, continued at Papillion Junior High, and helped open Papillion La Vista South High School. She remained at Papio South until her retirement from teaching in 2021. Her passion for education and commitment to students have left a lasting legacy across generations of PLCS families.

Dr. Rick Black
Legendary Educator
Dr. Rick Black devoted more than 40 years to public education, including 15 years of leadership in Papillion La Vista Community Schools. He first served PLCS as Assistant Superintendent before being hired as Superintendent in 2007. Dr. Black guided the district through a period of growth, which included the opening of Patriot Elementary, school improvements to many other buildings, and program enhancements. His dedication to PLCS continued after retirement through service on the PLCS Foundation Board of Directors.
